The University Library’s Special Collections are named after Donald and Beverly Gerth. The 10th President of Sacramento State from 1984-2003, Gerth enhanced the campus’ role as the “State University in the State Capital.” Our campus oral history, looking back on President Gerth’s time in office, contains more detailed information on The Center for California Studies, the development of centers of Research and Actions within state government and public policy, the emergence of the Department of Public Policy and Administration, and University Governance.
