Peter H. Shattuck was a distinguished Professor in the Department of History. An avid reader, book collector, and student of early American History, he worked tirelessly to improve of the quality of education at California State University, Sacramento and the wider CSU community. Because student centered learning was a central part of his life, the Endowment named for Professor Shattuck has donated funds for the acquisition of the Early American newspaper series. The series is an online database collection of early American newspapers dating from 1690 to 1790.
