Activism & Community

“Always attend community events If you cannot stay for the whole thing, go greet the people and let them know you support them”
- Frank Fat

In addition to adding vitality to the Sacramento region through his restaurant, Frank was a tireless community contributor through his family association, as an advocate for the Chinese American community, and through his sponsorship and endorsement of organizations--the Chinese American Council -- and initiatives and events like the Jinan Sister Cities Corporation in 1985 and the Pacific Rim Street Fest established in 1994. Frank’s focus was always on issues pertinent to the Chinese American community.

“We should never forget so superior a man, whose actions so far exceeded his modesty in speech.”
- Pete Wilson, Former Governor of California, at Frank Fat’s Memorial, 1977
