C.M. Goethe: His Life & Eugenic Vision - an exhibit

On Tuesday, October 12, a reception was held in the Department of Special Collections and University Archives for the opening of the exhibit C. M. Goethe: His Life & Eugenic Vision. Most of the material for this exhibit came from the Charles M. Goethe Papers, which is housed in SCUA. Additional material came from the Warner L. Marsh Papers, also in SCUA. see story

My first inkling that I might be able to attend the International Federation of Library Association (IFLA) conference was in January of 2004 when the ALA Library Instruction Round Table was asked to nominate someone as a representative to the IFLA Information Literacy Standing Committee. University Library Exhibits

OCTOBER

The Influence of Eugenics --- 1 st floor --- Presented by the Library’s Exhibits Committee, this exhibit is a companion to those in the Library Gallery and in Special Collections and Archives.  Be sure to see all three.

Young People’s Peace and Friendship Art Exhibit --- 2 nd and 3 rd floors --- Presented by Soka Gakkai International, USA, Sacramento.  Be sure to see both the paintings and the ceramics by artists from 6 years old to 20 years old.

NOVEMBER

Women’s Studies at CSUS   --- 1 st floor --- Presented by CSUS Women’s Studies. Learn about the concerns and class offerings of this campus academic program.

Halloween Bake Sale

The Library Employee Committee will be having its annual Halloween Bake sale Monday, October 31 from 9:30am-11:30am. Please consider contributing the home-cooked goodie of your choice then join your colleagues in the 5th floor break room for coffee and sweets! If your sweet tooth is missing in action, please consider making a cash donation. All proceeds go to support LEC activities such as the holiday party.
