| This is my house from the air. It's
the one near the middle of the photo with the big tree in the BACKYARD,
hanging over the back neighbor's pool and covering all but the northeast
corner of my house.
|
| The house is dominated by this large Deodar
Cedar in the backyard.
|
| The base of the tree is touching my
enclosed patio and has lifted the patio slab so that my windows have
cracked and I can't open them anymore. I'll be sorry to lose it,
but the according to the arborists I've consulted, the Deodar has got to
go.
|
| The question then is, "What will
replace it?" Right now very little grows in the
backyard except the Bougainville,
lots of Vinca Minor, Ivy and weeds.
|
| I'd love to tame the Bougainvillea with a
sturdy pergola and install a quiet fountain so I could sit outside and
lounge. I'd also love to have raised beds for flowers as there's
very little space in the front yard for my bulbs. I've put
in a small arched gate to the side yard and like the way the Star
Jasmine spills over it.
|
| Meandering steps, a wall mounted lion's head fountain, a comfy chaise lounge, -- what more could a girl ask? Ok, so maybe someplace to entertain. |
| The crane and crew are scheduled to come November 8 & 9, 2004, so wish me luck and watch this space for more photos. - Linda |
