Tracking Your Newsgroup Postings

Many people participate in Internet listservs or newsgroups. Be aware that it is possible to track the messages you have posted on such Internet discussion groups.

For example, at the Dejanews Web site, one can search a person's name or email user name and obtain a list of messages that the person has posted on various listservs or newsgroups.  After clicking on a message, there is an option to request an "author's profile."

The author profile will list all the postings sent to various newsgroups by that person (see example below).  The "author profile" is one way of finding out a person's interests and participation in newsgroups and listservs.
