Lillie Jones receives Staff Employee Honor
Our very own Lillie Jones was recognized last month as part of the quarterly Staff Employee Recognition Program. This recognition is designed to acknowledge staff members who contribute to the success of the University in the greater Sacramento community, employees who make outstanding contributions of service and dedication to the University; who promote values--including teamwork, pluralism, respect and understanding; who create more efficient or productive operations--including money-saving ideas, exceptional fiscal responsibility, or improving the quality of service.
||Nominated by Terry Webb, our Dean stated in his letter of nomination, “By assisting the new administrators in performing their role as the chief administrative officers of the Library, she has played a dynamic role in supporting the Library's mission and goals.” In a letter from President Gonzalez to Lillie, Gonzalez noted, that her “work in the administrative offices of the Library, as well as several high-level committees, has helped make the Library a successful part of the campus community.”
Lillie has served on countless advisory, search, and welcoming committees. In addition, she was recently recognized for having completed 30 years of employment at CSUS. But even after all these years, Lillie is here to share a smile and to encourage Library employees on. As she says, advocating for her Library colleagues is her most rewarding part of the job. Her positive impact on the campus community has been and will continue to be felt for years to come.
Besides a lunch (which will take place Sept. 13 th), a picture, a letter, and a certificate from President Gonzalez, Lillie also gets a parking space of her choice for 3 months. So where did she choose? Well, the “ Lillie Jones parking space” is located in the Parking structure, first floor next to the CSU administrative spaces.
From all of us in the Library, Congratulations!
