Tenure Time!
By Fred Batt, Library Administration

Congratulations are in order for two Librarians who have recently received tenure as well as promotions. Maria Kochis received tenure and promotion to the rank Associate Professor. Dr. Mary Reddick received tenure and promotion to the rank of Professor. Kudos to both!

Maria came to her Reference Librarian position in October, 1999 soon after Library School ( University of Pittsburgh) and after working as a Reference Assistant at University of Pittsburgh as well as an Information Assistant at the Carnegie Mellon Engineering and Science Library. Although she is responsible for engineering, she has also been helping out with collection development and instruction in literature as well as some other areas (and this is appreciated!).

Mary came to us from University of Utah Library in October, 2001 as Distance Education Librarian. This evolved to the position as Head of Online Curriculum Library Services (OCLS) and her pioneering work developing LOCUS. She received a Ph.D. from Utah in political science in 1994. Her MS in Library Science is from Catholic University of American ( Washington, DC) in 1981 and she also has a BA and MA in Social Sciences from Humboldt State University.
