Teaching Faculty Library Newsletter Coming
By Anne Bradley, Reference Department
In an effort to continue communications with the teaching faculty a group of Librarians working with Tamara Frost Trujillo, Collection Development Coordinator, have decided that a newsletter would be a perfect endeavor. Coming this fall semester we will be launching this new library newsletter promoting library collections to teaching faculty on campus. The newsletter was conceived as one way to keep faculty updated on library collections as recommended in the 2004 Library Academic Review. The newsletter will be published online three times a year and will include both general news items such as the state of the collections budget as well as informative articles for specific subject disciplines. Hopefully the newsletter will help us improve both awareness and usage of many of the library’s fabulous resources.
In order to meet the fall semester start date the co-editors, Anne Bradley and Leilani Hall, are currently gathering ideas for a catchy title. We have done some initial brainstorming and have come up with titles such as: Book Ends, Library Nuggets, User Notes, Grateful Read, Library News You Can Use, Lib Wire, and A to Z.
Several library employees have already contributed ideas such as: Ex Libris, Off the Shelf, Check it Out, New @ Your Library and The Source.
What do you think? Like a particular title? Have one to suggest? Feedback is welcome. Also, if you have ideas for articles or collections that need promoting don’t hesitate to contact either Anne or Leilani.
