The Sacramento-Emigrant Trails Chapter of the American Lung
Association originally formed in 1917 as the Sacramento Society
for the Preservation and Cure of Tuberculosis. The chapter
promotes public educational outreach and health services
regarding respiratory diseases. Tobacco use awareness and
smoking cessation comprise a cornerstone of the association's
public health programs.
