Gorman Museum at UC Davis

The show,
“Creative
Collectives: Chicana Painters Working in Community,” which originated
at the CSUS Library, and was co-curated by Kathryn Blackmer Reyes and
Elizabeth O’Brien of the CSUS Library and David Bischoff, Chair
of Fine and Performing Arts at Jesuit High School, has gone on the road.
David and Elizabeth, in conjunction with Cibonay Cordova from the C.N.
Gorman Museum, have taken the show to UC Davis, where it will open on
October 1, 2004 and run through November 30th 2004.

Library at Cote d'Ivorie

part of the partnership project between CSUS and six post-secondary institutions
in Cote d'Ivoire, Africa that has been going on for thee years. This summer
I traveled to Cote d’lvoire to discuss ways of future collaboration.
There is a lot that can be done to help the academic libraries that are
behind in their book collections. see

Trade Lecture

The
Library Café Task Force is pleased to host Jean Walsh from
TransFair USA as she speaks about Fair Trade Certification for products
such as coffee, cocoa, tea and bananas. Learn how Fair Trade ensures
fair prices for family farmers, promotes decent working and living
conditions and supports environmentally-friendly farming practices.
The presentation is scheduled for October 6th at 12:15 pm in the
Library Media Center, Room 1522. Immediately following at 1:00 pm
will be an open discussion forum about the community benefits of
supporting local businesses and services. The discussion forum will
be facilitated by Professor Dennis Tootelian from the Department
of Management. see
